Jo
Manion is a nationally recognized speaker, author and consultant.
Since 1991, she has served as principal and senior consultant with
Manion & Associates, offering organizational and professional
development, creating effective organizational and personal change,
building effective teams, facilitating planning processes, and creating
new organizational cultures.
As
an author she has published extensively including over 25 journal articles
and book chapters. Her most
recent book, From Management to Leadership: Interpersonal Competencies
for Success in Health Care, was released in 1998 by AHA press.
It provides an in-depth look at the interpersonal competencies for
effective leadership and had been widely endorsed by experts in the field
and has been selected by Doody’s as one of health care’s best books in
both 1998 and 1999. Her first
book, Change From Within was a best selling and award winning book
about grass-roots innovators in health care.
She was primary author for Team-Based Health Care Organizations:
A Blueprint for Success published in 1996.
She is a graduate of Marycrest College in Davenport, IA and the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Currently she is pursuing doctoral work in Human and Organizational Growth and Development.
