Jo
Anne Hagen has over a quarter century experience in business compliance.
Her early career was spent “In the Trenches” developing
policies and procedures for a wide range of regulatory matters including
Export Management.
She is a practicing attorney in Windsor, Colorado with
emphasis on commercial law and counsels companies on their export issues
including managing basic export programs, creating, auditing and
maintaining export compliance policies, development of international
distributorships and sales representation and exporting goods, technology
and software.
Jo Anne opened the Windsor Center for Business
Compliance in 2000 with the introduction of her Codewords™ Immersion
Instructional Program for Export Compliance.
The students who have graduated from her week-long course, held in
a specialized electronic classroom in Fort Collins, Colorado, have an
in-depth understanding of the entire export compliance cycle, from
regulatory language and interpretation to operational issues as vital to
export as creating accurate forms, reports and records.
Jo Anne graduated with honors from Drake University Law
School in 1994 after a decade-long career as a regulatory manager in
export, hazardous materials and transportation law.
She was Chief Counsel of Operations for Hach Company, a
multinational manufacturer of environmental systems and now has a
broad multinational practice in Windsor, Colorado.
Her clients are worldwide. The
companies she counsels that develop, market, sell and export a wide-range
of products and technology including high-tech, agricultural and chemical
products and software. She
works with government licensing entities, freight forwarders and
transporters, export and import officials and all others in the export
chain to gain export advantages for her clients.
She has authored two books on hazardous material transportation, numerous articles on export management and packaging. She has lectured and written widely on a variety of commercial law subjects and instructed everyone from executives to line personnel on how to manage their regulatory compliance objectives.
