Safety Training

Ladder Safety

The objective of Ladder Safety training is to instruct employees in the safe and appropriate use of ladders on the job. Employees whose job responsibilities require the use of ladders in the workplace should receive training in their safe use. This training program is designed to communicate, in whole or in part, the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.24 to 1910.27, and 29 CFR 1926.1050.

Upon successful completion of training, trainees will demonstrate an understanding of:

• The general requirements of your company's ladder safety program
• The safe use of ladders, including appropriate placement, pitch, and securing
• The appropriate care and maintenance of ladders
• Prohibited uses of ladders
• The circumstances under which ladders or portable stairs should be removed from service and destroyed
