Personal Protective Equipment

The objective of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training is to instruct employees in the appropriate use of PPE in the workplace. Examples of PPE include hardhats, safety shoes, protective eyewear, gloves, and hearing protection. All employees who use such equipment must be trained in its proper use. This training program is designed to satisfy, in whole or in part, the requirements of 29CFR 1910.132(f).

Upon successful completion of training, trainees will demonstrate an understanding of:

• Conditions and locations in your facility in which PPE must be worn by the employee
• What PPE is necessary under these conditions and in these locations
• How to properly don, doff, adjust, and wear PPE
• The limitations of PPE
• The proper care, maintenance, useful life, and disposal of PPE
