A transitional work program is defined by
the Ohio Bureau of
Workers Compensation as "a work-site program that provides an individualized interim step in the recovery of an injured worker with job restrictions resulting from the allowed conditions in the claim." Further, the program is developed in conjunction with the employer, the injured worker, and other parties as needed including collective bargaining agents, the physician of record, rehabilitation professionals, and the
Managed Care Organization. A transitional work program offers various options to assist the injured worker in progressively performing the duties of a targeted job.
